Job summary

HM Revenue & Customs is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join the Tooling & Automation team. You will support cloud infrastructure on AWS, Linux, Windows, and networking, and help implement CI/CD with AWX, Ansible, Jenkins and GitLab in a secure, scalable environment.

You will monitor live services, troubleshoot incidents, manage user access, and contribute to runbooks and change control. Strong collaboration with DevOps and ITIL practices is expected, with SC clearance pursued.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting live IT services or operational tech environments.
• Good understanding of AWS cloud, operating systems, and networking.
• Exposure to CI/CD, automation, source control, or secrets management.
• Methodical troubleshooting skills and a strong attention to detail.
• Clear communication skills to support technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Understanding of Agile, DevOps, or ITIL ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot incidents, resolve service requests, and escalate complex issues.
• Administer user access and onboarding requests securely.
