Job summary

ICAEW in London is seeking a Modernisation Delivery Lead to steer infrastructure modernisation across the technology estate. The role involves planning changes such as cloud migration, decommissioning legacy systems, platform upgrades, and governance to ensure on-time delivery within scope and budget.

The successful candidate will act as a servant leader for delivery squads, coordinating with technical leads, suppliers, and business stakeholders to realise ICAEW's long-term technology strategy.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure, cloud, or platform transformation projects.
• Strong track record managing technical delivery within data centres, cloud platforms (Azure) and enterprise IT estates.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams and working with third-party suppliers or MSPs on infra delivery.
• Familiar with ITIL, CAB, and production readiness requirements in enterprise environments.
• PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile delivery certifications (Scrum Master, SAFe) are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and lead delivery of infrastructure and platform modernisation programmes, including cloud enablement, server upgrades, network modernisation, backup and DR improvements, and decommissioning of legacy systems.
• Identify and track delivery risks (downtime, dependencies, support gaps) and mitigate them with technical leads and suppliers.
• Work within ICAEW's delivery governance framework to ensure change readiness, compliance, and benefit tracking.
• Where feasible, apply Agile or hybrid delivery methods (Kanban, iterative releases) to manage infrastructure delivery flow.
• Collaborate with Architecture to ensure alignment with future-state infrastructure strategy and technical standards.
