A leading educational institution in Newport is looking for an IT Infrastructure specialist to provide 3rd line support and maintain the IT environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in areas like network architecture, telephony systems, and Active Directory. A degree or equivalent experience is required. This role offers the opportunity to enhance IT services within a dynamic environment.
This role sits within the Infrastructure team in the Information Services department. The post holder is expected to have a good understanding across a broad range of IT disciplines, although likely to specialise in one or more areas of expertise such as, but not limited to, networking & telephony, cloud, and security.
Providing an excellent experience for both staff and students, the role holder will work closely with the Service Desk and other specific IT service areas in a 3rd line support capacity. The role holder will also contribute to the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance and monitoring of the University IT infrastructure both on-premise and in the cloud.
The team is responsible for the smooth running of all IT Infrastructure and contributes to ongoing continual service improvements.
