Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer for a 12-month contract role with our global financial services client. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of on-premises infrastructure, networking, and global network architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain on-premises infrastructure and network systems
• Provide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-line infrastructure and end-user support for staff in UK, Asia, and European regions
• Administer and troubleshoot Cisco networking equipment and small global networks
• Manage firewall technologies and ensure network security
• Support and maintain VMware environments
• Oversee Office 365 networks, including related firewalls and on-premises Cisco infrastructure
• Manage incident logging, prioritization, and resolution for IT ServiceDesk operations
• Administer user accounts, permissions, and access across various systems
• Support Microsoft Office applications, including email, messaging, and telephony
• Perform end-user device setup and software installation
• Monitor system performance and implement improvements
• Collaborate with the global IT team on complex issues and infrastructure projects
• Contribute to IT documentation and implement best practices
• Manage relationships with IT suppliers and conduct service reviews

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Infrastructure and Networking roles
• Strong understanding of Cisco networking equipment and small global network architectures
• Extensive knowledge of firewall technologies and network security principles
• Proficiency with VMware virtualization environments
• Experience with Office 365 networks, including related firewall configurations and on-premises Cisco infrastructure
• Expertise in Windows Server environments and Active Directory
• Strong troubleshooting skills across various hardware and software platforms
• Experience with ITSM tools and IT service delivery processes
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff
• Adaptability to changing priorities and ability to work under pressure
