Job summary

A specialized recruitment firm is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join a mission-critical security programme in Cheltenham. The ideal candidate will have expertise in VMware and be willing to work on-site full-time due to project security requirements. This role offers competitive pay at £560 per day inside IR35 and a contract until March 2026 with a likely extension.

Qualifications

• Must hold Active Enhanced DV Clearance (West).
• Willing to work on-site 5 days a week in Cheltenham.
• Experience in VMware Suite, Storage Management, and Automation.

Job description

What will the Infrastructure Engineer be doing?

In the role, you will support a long-term, mission-critical security programme, focusing on high-impact workstreams and operations within secure infrastructure. You will work alongside multiple other engineers and have technical guidance from senior Team Leads.

Key Skills Required:

• Expertise of VMware – vSphere, NSX, ESXi, vCenter
• Strong knowledge of storage/backup management
• System administration within secure environments

Desirable Skills Required:

• IaC and Automation – Ansible/Terraform
• Cloud migration exposure

Must Have Requirements:

• Active Enhanced DV Clearance (West)
• Willing to be on site 5 days per week in Cheltenham – no scope for remote working due to secure environment and project requirements – mission-critical engagement
