Infrastructure Engineer | Managed Hosting | Nutfield, Surrey

Full-time | £35,000 - £45,000 Basic Salary | Hands-on across 2nd to 3rd Line | Office-Based (with overtime options)

Looking to break out of the typical MSP grind and actually make an impact?

A growing managed hosting provider is on the lookout for a skilled Infrastructure Engineer to join their tight-knit team. This is a hands-on role across 2nd and 3rd line support, with exposure to core hosting infrastructure and direct client ownership.

As a valued member of a small but highly technical team, you won’t just fix tickets—you’ll be involved in shaping solutions, executing projects, and influencing how services are delivered.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting Microsoft environments across Windows Server, AD, RDS, Exchange & Hyper-V
  • Handling a wide range of support queries (1st–3rd line) via phone, email, and ticketing
  • Troubleshooting complex network issues (Firewalls, DNS, VPNs, VLANs, etc.)
  • Maintaining backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Working on customer projects and systems upgrades
  • Occasionally visiting UK data centres and participating in out-of-hours work (paid overtime)

Tech You'll Use:

  • Microsoft Windows Server & Exchange (2010–2016)
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, NTFS Permissions
  • Microsoft RDS, Hyper-V, Veeam, SonicWALL/Draytek
  • PowerShell, Batch/VBA scripting, Office 2010–2016
  • Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in 1st–3rd line support
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft-based infrastructure and hosted environments
  • Someone proactive, technically confident, and ready to own the full support lifecycle
  • Comfortable working in data centres and managing physical hardware
