Job description

  • Lead Criteria: Strong experience in AWS Compute Services such as EC2, Autoscaling, Lambda, Lifecycle Hooks, volumes and snapshots management, AMI creation using Image Builder or Packer

    Significant experience in AWS CloudFormation/Cloud Development Kit (CDK) , Terraform Infrastructure as a Code - Advanced level template scripting, knowledge of parameters, functions, references, mappings, resource groups, user data/bootstrap script execution
  • Strong working knowledge of GIT, branching strategies, merging, push, pull requests/ Create and manage CI/CD pipelines
  • Advanced Knowledge of AWS VPC - Creating and managing private networks, Subnets, Security Groups, Network ACLs, Peering, Private Link Endpoint, Internet/Nat/Transit Gateways/VPNs
  • Operating System - strong working knowledge and practical experience of Amazon Linux/Red Hat/CentOS, Bash scripting and fundamentals, Installing packages, grep. Advanced knowledge on management of Windows Server 2012R2, Windows Server 2016/2019, PowerShell Scripting - including creating advanced reusable modules, event managements and installation of tooling and other software in a non-interactive manner
  • Live Services - significant demonstrable experience and thorough understanding of running a business-critical production environment - ability to carefully follow change management process, understanding of SRE principles, standards. Expertise in DevOps principles and practises, knowledge on incident/problem/change management

You'll be working alongside fast-paced delivery teams, using top-tier tools like GitLab, Jira, Slack and SharePoint whilst collaborating with partners like AWS, UiPath and MongoDB. We're big on proactive monitoring, robust solutions and keeping critical services running smoothly.     Pay up to £68,517 plus 28.97% employer pension contributions, hybrid working, flexible hours, and great work life balance., Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub. Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to £68,517 Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%, worth over £16,000 per year. Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31 days over time. You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You'll also get all the usual public holidays.
