Job description

Evolution Security is seeking a talented and experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in a 3rd Line Support capacity. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing and supporting our organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring it operates smoothly and securely. You will provide expert technical support to both internal teams and clients, troubleshooting complex issues that may arise, and implementing solutions to enhance system performance.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will work with a variety of technologies, including servers, networks, and cloud services. Your proactive approach to problem solving and your ability to work under pressure will be essential in maintaining the high standards of service that our clientele expect. Responsibilities

  • Providing high quality, responsive and consistent resolutions to IT Incidents across the entire business
  • Support and maintenance of server infrastructure
  • Monitoring security of existing environment
  • Producing detailed technical documentation
  • Assisting with technical migrations
  • Server administration
  • Dealing with email security, archiving and cleansing
  • Daily 3rd line IT support, covering/assisting with 1st and 2nd line IT Support when necessary
  • Maintaining knowledge of current and future information security threats and challenges
  • Working closely with other teams to ensure there is a coordinated approach to infrastructure support
  • Providing periodic reporting and management information on infrastructure performance
  • Work closely with various vendors, driving the resolution of incidents and fulfilment of requests, participating in regular service reviews
  • Testing, imaging and deployment of new mobile devices
  • Covering imaging and deployment of new Hardware when required
  • Managing MDM solution and point of escalation for MDM issues
  • Provide expertise and support in security engineering, incident response and risk management
  • Assisting the IT Director with hardware configuration for the Technical Engineer team
  • Assisting the head of IT with maintaining ISO27001:2022 and Cyber Essentials+ compliance throughout the year
  • Disaster Recovery testing and reporting
  • Being the point of escalation and team leader when the head of IT is unavailable
  • Occasional travel to our sites across the UK and Europe


Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or in a similar 3rd Line Support role
  • Strong knowledge of server and network technologies, including Windows Servers, Active Directory, and networking principles
  • Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is highly desirable
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with clients and team members
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA) will be an advantage
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and a willingness to learn new technologies
