The role...

We are seeking someone with strong 3rd line IT Infrastructure skills with at least 5 years or equivalent experience to work within the infrastructure team delivering IT services to approx. 4000 end users. GlobalData operates in a hybrid environment with cloud and on-premises systems. The infrastructure team is responsible for all core backend systems which includes servers, switches, firewalls and WAN technologies.

What you'll be doing...

• Maintain and monitor the internal hardware. Investigate issues.
• Rebuild and deploy on-premises hardware where required.
• Monitor and deploy storage where required. Track data usage.
• Monitor server/comms room capabilities.
• Network patch management / UPS and power distribution.
• Monitor server logs and events. Investigate as required.
• Work within team and advise/discuss issues.

• Networking > LAN/WAN/SD-WAN - TCP, UDP
• Windows Server > building, configuring, maintaining, security
• Linux > Debian Server > building, configuring, maintaining, security
• Active Directory / DHCP / DNS > managing / configuring and monitoring
• SAN/NAS > Dell / QNAP / EMC > building, configuring, monitoring
• Server Hardware > repairing, upgrading, specifications, monitoring
• Hyper-V / CLUSTERING / Virtual Networks > building, monitoring
• MS AZURE / AMAZON AWS > supporting, monitoring, configuration

Desired skills:

• Power Shell Scripting
• Backup Solutions > VEEAM / DATTO / Cloud Storage > Managing, Reporting
• Microsoft SCCM/Intune > Configuring, Support
• Enterprise Anti-Virus Solutions / End point Protection > deployment, support, configuration, diagnosis
• O365 Admin
• SD WAN mesh networks > Monitoring and Reporting
• Network Monitoring > Systems / Security / Applications
• Strong Knowledge of Network Fundamentals
• Experience with working with suppliers
