A local government council in the UK is seeking an ICT Infrastructure Engineer to support and implement its IT infrastructure. The role involves maintenance of core networks, troubleshooting, and contributing to projects. Ideal candidates should have relevant qualifications and extensive knowledge in IT infrastructure, including hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies and VMware virtualization, along with a strong track record in IT security. We are looking to welcome an experienced ICT Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT Service Operations Team, where you will play a key role in implementing and supporting our IT Infrastructure.
In this role, your primary responsibility will be to support our core network and virtualised environment (VxRail / VMware), whilst also supporting the wider Infrastructure Team with our Microsoft technologies (M365, Azure, Security solutions).
You will be involved in proactive maintenance, incident troubleshooting, creating and maintaining documentation, and providing expert technical advice. You'll also contribute to projects that directly support the Council's success.
You will hold a relevant degree or professional/vocational qualification in Information Technology (ideally CCNA or CompTIA Network+), or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience.
