Job summary

Oscar Associates (UK) Limited is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer for Birmingham with hybrid onsite work (3–4 days on site). The role focuses on supporting and improving enterprise IT infrastructure, with emphasis on Cisco networking and server environments.

The candidate should have strong Cisco networking skills, proficiency with TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routing and switching, and experience with Windows Server and virtualization. The role is outside IR35 and initial 6-month term.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Infrastructure engineer or in a similar hands-on role.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco networking technologies, including routers and switches.
• Good understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routing, switching and network troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure across network and server environments.
• Familiarity with Windows Server and virtualization technologies.

Responsibilities

• Support, maintain and troubleshoot enterprise network and infrastructure environments.
• Configure and support Cisco routers and switches.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues across LAN/WAN environments.
• Work with TCP/IP, routing, switching and network configuration.
• Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, deployments and hardware refreshers.
• Assist with the maintenance and optimisation of server and wider IT infrastructure.
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure incidents, identifying root causes and implementing fixes.

We're looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure across network and server environments. This is a hands‑on role suited to an engineer with strong Cisco networking knowledge and experience troubleshooting, maintaining and improving infrastructure.
