Tact in Manchester is seeking an Infrastructure DevOps Engineer to own and scale our infrastructure. You’ll operate Kubernetes clusters across bare-metal and cloud, build robust CI/CD pipelines, and ensure strong monitoring and security practices for rapid, reliable deployments.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, ownership in a small team, and contributing to security and SOC 2 compliance as the platform processes billions of requests monthly. Office-based in Manchester City Centre.

I'm working with a Manchester tech startup building the infrastructure that powers web data collection, automation and AI agents.

They're operating globally across 195+ countries, and they're now looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer to take ownership of their infrastructure as the business scales.

This isn't a role where you'll just be managing cloud services. You'll be building, improving and owning the systems that the engineering team relies on every day.

What you'll be doing:

• Taking ownership of Kubernetes clusters across bare-metal and cloud environments.
• Building and improving CI/CD pipelines so engineers can deploy quickly and reliably.
• Managing monitoring, observability and infrastructure performance.
• Owning SOC 2 processes, incident reporting and infrastructure security.
• Troubleshooting infrastructure issues and participating in on-call support.
• Making technical decisions around how the platform scales as the company grows.

What they're looking for:

• Commercial experience running Kubernetes clusters in production.
• Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Solid Linux and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with self-hosted infrastructure, rather than solely managed cloud services.
• Understanding of SOC 2, incident management and on-call responsibilities.
• Someone proactive, curious and comfortable taking ownership in a small team.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana or OpenTelemetry.
• Knowledge of Go, Python, Ansible or ArgoCD.
• Experience with bare-metal infrastructure, BGP or IP networking.
• Personal infrastructure projects.
