Job summary

Sunblink is seeking an experienced Cost Controller for a major infrastructure project in Suffolk. The role focuses on robust financial governance, cost reporting, forecasting and strategic financial insight to support decision-making across the programme.

The successful candidate will have ACA/ACCA/CIMA, extensive experience in construction or infrastructure projects, and strong NEC contract knowledge, with advanced Excel and ERP skills to drive cost control excellence.

Qualifications

ACA/ACCA/CIMA (essential)
Experience on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (Defined Cost/Disallowed Cost)
Advanced Excel and ERP experience
Analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail

Responsibilities

Monitor project costs against budgets, forecasts and NEC Defined Cost principles.
Prepare regular cost reports, including Disallowed Cost and fee-based forecasts.
Analyse cost variances and provide financial insight to project teams.
Support audits and ensure NEC contractual compliance and governance.
Collaborate with finance, commercial, procurement and delivery teams.
Improve forecasting accuracy and monitor committed costs, accruals and risks.
Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and improved financial performance.
Contribute to development of financial controls and reporting processes.
