Infrastructure Manager (Technology)

£90,000 - £100,000 + Package
Role Summary:
We are seeking an Infrastructure Manager to work closely with the Head of Technology. You will be operating as the No. 2 within the team. Your remit will cover all aspects of Infrastructure operations. This role is technically focused and will be more hands-on than leadership. You will be working in a modern technology environment that is cloud-first.
You will get the chance to work with the CTO and CEO and various end customers globally in e-commerce, retail, and Saas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the design, deployment, and day-to-day operations of core infrastructure (cloud and on-prem) supporting global ecommerce and supply chain platforms.
- Lead and mentor a small infrastructure team, ensuring effective delivery, skills development, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with the Head of Technology and CEO on infrastructure strategy, aligning with business goals and international expansion plans.
- Deliver resilient, secure, and scalable environments using infrastructure-as-code principles with Terraform and automation tools.
- Manage Windows and Linux systems, including patching, monitoring, and performance tuning.
- Drive DevOps adoption—managing CI/CD pipelines, Docker containers, and security-first deployment pipelines.
- Implement high-availability systems and disaster recovery for business continuity across time zones and territories.
- Maintain system observability and monitoring to proactively identify issues and optimize system health.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and data privacy regulations across regions.
- Manage third-party vendors, licenses, and infrastructure budgets.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong technical leadership in infrastructure, 2 direct reports
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL), and modern virtualization.
- Strong practical knowledge of Docker, Terraform, and DevOps pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps).
- Experience managing hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud: AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Sound understanding of infrastructure and platform security principles, with exposure to DevSecOps workflows.
- Proven ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders, translating business needs into technical strategy.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, especially in high-availability and mission-critical environments.
