Job summary

Algolia is seeking a pragmatic Information Security Engineer to strengthen our security posture across cloud and on-prem environments. You will design automated controls, support threat detection, and partner with product teams to embed security into development pipelines.

You’ll lead incident response efforts and contribute to SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR initiatives while advancing our vulnerability disclosure program. Excellent communication and English proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of Information Security engineering, infrastructure protection, or related technical domains.
• Proficiency in scripting or automation with at least one language (Python, Bash, Go, or similar); Kubernetes preferred.
• Strong understanding of cloud security (AWS, GCP, Azure) and on-prem environments.
• Experience with log management, threat detection, posture management, endpoint detection and response, and related security tools ( CrowdStrike, Obsidian ).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with non-technical audiences.
• Fluency in English (full professional proficiency).

Responsibilities

• Design and automate controls, detection mechanisms, and tooling to improve security of infrastructure and products.
• Research, evaluate, and implement new security technologies, techniques, and frameworks.
• Design, implement, and maintain security monitoring and remediation systems to protect data and systems.
• Partner with engineering to integrate security into new features and pipelines.
• Lead incident response activities and post-incident analysis.
• Support security compliance initiatives (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR).
• Manage and enhance bug bounty and vulnerability disclosure programs.
