Job summary

A global managed service provider is seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to provide on-site support in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland. The role involves setting up hardware, troubleshooting issues, and assisting with go-live readiness. Ideal candidates will have a background in system administration and IT support, along with strong communication skills. This position is contract-based and is inside IR35.

Job description

ECS Resource Group are currently working in partnership with a global managed service provider who's end client is in the Manufacturing sector. We are assisting them with the search for a IT Support Engineer on a contract basis. This is a contract that is inside IR35 and is based on-site every day in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on IT support for implementation activities.
  • Set up and configure barcode printers, RF scanners, and related hardware.
  • Assist SMEs and Power Users in preparing hardware and software for go-live readiness.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and connectivity issues on-site.
  • Collaborate with the central project team to ensure consistent setup and deployment practices.

Key Skills:

  • Background in system administration and IT infrastructure support.
  • Experience with hardware configuration, including scanners and printers.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new software (SAP and others – training provided).
