Job summary

SPG Resourcing is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to join an established project delivery team in Leeds. You will own a range of medium-sized IT projects across infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, networks and data & insight.

Typically two active projects at once, with values from £100k to £3m. You’ll work with technical teams, suppliers and stakeholders in a collaborative environment, combining governance with practical delivery.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience delivering IT projects within a structured project environment.
  • Experience delivering projects of moderate size and complexity.
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall or both methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of projects from initiation through to delivery.
  • Manage project plans, milestones, dependencies, risks and issues.
  • Track and forecast project budgets and costs.
  • Produce regular project reporting and maintain documentation.
  • Manage suppliers, delivery partners and contracts.
  • Develop business cases and supporting project documentation.
  • Facilitate technical design discussions and decision-making.
  • Lead Steering Groups and governance for projects.
  • Support procurement activity and commercial processes.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to join an established project delivery team and take ownership of a range of medium-sized technology projects.

This is an ideal opportunity for a Project Manager who has already delivered IT projects and is looking to work across a varied technology landscape. You don't need to be a technical specialist, but you should have a genuine interest in technology and be comfortable working with technical teams, suppliers and stakeholders.

Projects will typically fall across infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, networks, and data & insight, giving you exposure to a broad range of technology initiatives.

You will generally manage around two projects at any one time, depending on their size and complexity, with project values ranging from approximately £100k to £3m.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of projects from initiation through to successful delivery.
  • Manage project plans, milestones, dependencies, risks and issues.
  • Track and forecast project budgets and costs.
  • Produce regular project reporting and maintain accurate project documentation.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience delivering IT projects within a structured project environment.
  • Experience delivering projects of moderate size and complexity.
  • Experience working with either Agile, Waterfall or both methodologies.
  • Strong project governance, risk and issue management experience.
  • Experience managing suppliers and contracts.
  • Strong budget and commercial management skills.
  • Experience presenting to and facilitating Steering Groups.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and delivery partners.
  • A genuine interest in technology and a willingness to understand technical concepts.
  • Strong organisation, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • A collaborative, personable approach and the ability to work effectively within a relatively small team.
