Technology Assurance Analyst

Astrum Search is supporting a forward-thinking research and technology (FinTech) company that specializes in financial research, IT infrastructure, and machine learning.

As part of the Controls Assurance team, you will be a problem solver, conducting reviews of critical business processes and key technology projects. You will assess key business risk areas, particularly across the change portfolio, providing the Board and Senior Leadership team with insights to improve the business.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead assessments of sophisticated tech platforms, applications, and core infrastructure within a trading environment.
2. Collaborate with developers and engineers to understand the technical landscape, applying a business-first risk approach.
3. Conduct risk evaluations and assurance work across engineering functions.
4. Utilize creative testing strategies to generate data-driven insights.
5. Incorporate data into all review stages—from planning to reporting and follow-up.
6. Present concise risk summaries and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Strong academic background, ideally a 2:1 or above in Computer Science or related field.
• Understanding of modern software development methods like Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
• Experience in risk, audit, or assurance roles within financial services.
• Ability to operate confidently in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.
• Proficiency in working with datasets and structured problem-solving.
• Familiarity with analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or Python is advantageous.
