Role: IT Application Development Manager

Location: Europe (preferably UK, France, Netherlands, Italy) - Remote

Spencer Rigby has partnered with a global Ophthalmic Medical Device company seeking a hands-on IT Application Development Manager to lead, innovate, and shape the digital infrastructure of the organization.

This is a high-impact leadership role where you will manage a talented development team, oversee system architecture, and deliver scalable solutions that support global operations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a high-performing internal development team on major technical initiatives
• Design and evolve a robust, scalable systems and data landscape
• Ensure 24/7 system reliability
• Promote best practices across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and maintain documentation
• Mentor team members and stakeholders in modern tools and methodologies
• Collaborate with IT and business leaders to develop innovative, value-driven solutions
• Work with vendors to maintain key systems like ERP, QMS, and PLM

Qualifications:

• Leadership experience in tech development within the Medical Device or advanced manufacturing sectors
• Experience in system architecture and design
• Proven ability to support 24/7 global applications
