Information Security Risk Advisor, Bradford

Job Description:

The role focuses on risk management activities, aimed at identifying and reducing risks associated with technology used within the UK firm. You will report to the Risk Management Manager and receive support from the wider team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Organize and manage activities, prioritizing requests based on criticality and risk.
  2. Liaise with key stakeholders to gather information on relevant technologies.
  3. Support the Risk Management Manager with conducting risk assessments to identify areas of risk and non-compliance, and communicate findings to management and senior stakeholders.
  4. Evaluate the impact of risks on the organization, including potential financial or reputational damage if exploited.
  5. Support remediation efforts, manage, and track risks until resolution.
  6. Serve as the point of contact for business teams regarding information security questions.
  7. Deliver reports (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly) as required by leadership and stakeholders.
  8. Take ownership of assigned tasks, monitor KPIs, and ensure deadlines are met.
  9. Support strategic projects, process improvements, knowledge sharing, and social activities.
Skills and Experience:
  • Strong interest in building a career in information/cyber security.
  • Formal qualification in Information Security.
  • Experience in a relevant information security or IT role is desirable but not essential.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to question information accuracy.
  • Inquisitive nature with good judgment on questions to ask.
  • Ability to manage workload, prioritize, and escalate when necessary.
  • Customer service orientation, problem-solving skills, and teamwork.
  • Effective written communication skills.
  • Basic to intermediate data manipulation and visualization skills (e.g., PowerBI, Alteryx, Excel).
  • Experience with Microsoft M365 is desirable but not essential.
