Job Description

The Information Security Engagement Analyst performs a critical role in the maintenance and implementation of security for the whole organisation. The analyst is a vital role in supporting the BISO function support the organisation and achieve its goals

You will have a broad knowledge of Information Security and an appetite to learn, develop and broaden your experience. This role focuses heavily on engaging the business in the right way to consider Information Security in everything they do. The individual will have a strong understanding of workflows, reporting and request management. You will work directly with the business to triage and manage their requests and ensure the relevant experts in the Information Security team are available to support.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a budding security professional to gain experience in a fast paced, multi-national organisation.

Key Elements of the Role

Workflow Management

  • Manage new requests, triage and respond quickly to the business
  • Keep tickets up to date
  • Provide customers with vital updates throughout the lifecycle of their request
  • Ensure the security team are working to internal deadlines to respond to customers
  • Support the Group BISO in regular updates on workflow performance to feed into senior management
Business Engagement

  • Act as a strong liaison within the initial engagement int our team via our ‘front door’
  • Work with the business to clearly communicate process and expectations at the initiation of an engagement
  • Support the BISO function when delivering security engagement
  • Promote security best practice wherever you work with the business
  • Support in the creation of key project documentation, awareness material and security insights to provide to the business
Capacity Management and Reporting

  • Triage, review and mange new project and security requests to provide a quality, repeatable security assessment.
  • Ensure the security team have ample resource to respond to requests and provide feedback accordingly
  • Communicate across all security teams to ensure requests are understood and are being actioned
  • Communicate upwards any capacity concerns to be reviewed by the senior team
  • Manage the BISO reporting dashboards and KPIs
  • Gather, analyse and manipulate data to gain insights and provide relevant feedback
  • Report back to the Group BISO and CISO weekly to deliver meaningful insights.
Skills and Experience

The job holder will demonstrate:

  • Clear, concise, and engaging communication skills, both verbally and written, including an ability to use the full functionality of commonly used reporting and presentation tools,
  • An ability to manage multiple activities consecutively
  • An ability and positive attitude to learning and developing their security skills
  • An ability to work collaboratively and constructively with the various internal entities of large complex organisations and third-party providers.
The job holder is expected to possess the following skill set:

  • An ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to extract clarity from fast-paced, evolving scenarios by helping to clarify the inevitable ambiguity arising within a large, complex, and interdependent organisation.
  • Ability to articulate goals, achievements, risks, expectations, and needs to individuals
  • An ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • A working knowledge of information security principles
  • Awareness of IT and how that is applied in large retailers
  • Strong skills in basic MS Office tools, Workflow Management tools and Reporting (Power BI)
Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry Standard qualifications and training such as SANS, GIAC or CISSP are desirable, but not essential
