Job summary

NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS), in partnership with Sopra Steria, is seeking an Information Security Analyst to safeguard NHS organisations across the UK. The role involves monitoring security tools, investigating incidents, and shaping cyber security capabilities within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background and security-first mindset.
• Experience in Information Security Analyst or similar role.
• Strong infrastructure, networking and system security knowledge.
• Experience with vulnerability management tools, IDS and SIEM.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST CSF and PCI DSS.
• Experience investigating cyber incidents.
• Analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Protect critical infrastructure, networks, systems and data from evolving cyber threats.
• Monitor security tools to identify suspicious activity and potential attacks.
• Investigate security incidents, alerts and breaches.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and drive remediation.
• Manage IAM controls and identify inappropriate access.
• Research emerging threats and propose proactive improvements.
• Evaluate and implement new security technologies and solutions.
• Produce reports for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support internal and external security audits.
• Respond to phishing campaigns and social engineering threats.
