Job summary

Animal and Plant Health Agency is seeking an experienced Information Rights Team Leader to head our information rights service within the Knowledge and Information Management (KIM) Team. You will lead and develop the service, provide expert advice on FOI, EIR and data protection, and ensure compliance with statutory deadlines while promoting openness and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an information rights service in a public sector organisation.
  • Experience providing line and functional management support.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work to statutory deadlines in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop APHA’s Information Rights service, ensuring it operates effectively and to a high standard.
  • Provide expert advice on information rights legislation to colleagues and senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance, managing requests in line with statutory deadlines and regulatory expectations.
  • Oversee complex casework including internal reviews, ICO investigations and tribunal contributions.
  • Maintain and develop policies and guidance reflecting current legislation and best practice.
  • Manage APHA’s publication scheme with timely, accurate responses.
