Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is seeking an Information Rights Team Leader in Preston to lead APHA’s Information Rights service, ensuring compliance with FOI, EIR and data protection rules. You will manage complex casework, advise on legislation, and develop policies while driving openness and continuous improvement.

The role involves leading and developing the team, coordinating with Defra Group colleagues, and contributing to wider information management initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience leading information rights services.
• Strong understanding of FOI, EIR and data protection processes.
• Ability to provide expert advice to colleagues and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead APHA’s Information Rights service and ensure high-quality delivery.
• Provide expert guidance on information rights legislation to colleagues.
• Ensure compliance with statutory deadlines and regulatory expectations.
• Oversee complex casework including internal reviews and ICO investigations.
• Maintain publication schemes and develop policies reflecting best practice.
• Act as lead user for the eCase system and promote information rights capability.
