Job summary

The Government Recruitment Service is inviting applications for the Information Rights Team Leader role within APHA in Exeter. You will lead the Information Rights service, ensuring timely responses under FOI, EIR and data protection laws, while promoting openness and continuous improvement.

You will provide expert advice on information rights, support senior stakeholders, and drive policy development, publication management, and casework handling across the team.

Qualifications

• Experience leading an Information Rights service or team.
• Strong knowledge of information rights legislation (FOI/EIR) and data protection.
• Ability to develop and implement policies and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop APHA’s Information Rights service, ensuring it operates effectively and delivers to a high standard.
• Provide expert advice on information rights legislation, supporting colleagues and senior stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance, managing requests in line with statutory deadlines and regulatory expectations.
• Oversee complex casework, including internal reviews, ICO investigations, and tribunal contributions.
• Maintain and develop policies and guidance, ensuring they reflect current legislation and best practice.
• Manage APHA’s publication scheme, ensuring timely and accurate publication of responses.
