Summary

CCS | Compass Corporate Services havepartnered exclusively with a leading, award-winning psychologicalhealthcare provider in the UK to source an experienced InformationRequest Officer. This is a brand-new role created due to significantgrowth in information access demands — a pivotal opportunity to bringexpertise and structure to an area critical to governance and patienttrust.

Overview

We are looking foran experienced data protection and information governance professionalto lead on subject access requests (SARs) and broader informationdisclosure processes, ensuring legal compliance, confidentiality, andquality assurance across a highly specialist healthcare setting.

The organisation is nationally recognised for itspioneering work in mental health and psychological services, with areputation for excellence in patient care, safeguarding, andinnovation. This role supports that mission by ensuring that everyrequest for information is handled with professionalism, empathy, andmeticulous attention to legal frameworks.

Workingclosely with the Quality and Governance Manager, you will coordinatethe receipt, tracking, redaction, and release of sensitiveinformation, often from complex clinical case notes. You’ll play avital role in protecting patient data while enabling transparency andaccess — a balance that requires deep knowledge of GDPR, the DataProtection Act 2018, and healthcare best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and respond toSubject Access Requests and other data disclosure requests in linewith legal and regulatory timelines
  • Redact sensitive patientdata appropriately, using relevant tools and judgement
  • Maintain an accurate log of information requests and audittrails
  • Liaise with internal teams, patients, and externalstakeholders professionally
  • Provide advice on informationrights, sharing protocols, and internal compliance
  • Supportwider governance and IG functions, including document management andcompliance audits
  • Previous experience in a similar SAR or dataprotection-focused role
  • Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR,the Data Protection Act 2018, and exemptions
  • Background inhealthcare, mental health, or psychological services – understandingof clinical language is essential
  • Excellent writtencommunication and document presentation skills
  • High attentionto detail, with the ability to handle distressing or sensitiveinformation professionally
  • Ability to commute to Teesside HQas required, especially during induction period
  • Comfortableworking independently and flexibly – this role is hybrid with optionsto suit school hours or other commitments

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experienceworking in NHS or social care settings
  • Familiarity withpatient management systems
  • Audit or compliance monitoring experience
