Our open and collaborative culture ensures that employees at all levels are supported in their growth, with opportunities for learning, coaching, and career progression.

The Role

As an Information Manager, you will play a key role in maximising the value of data within our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and associated systems. By analysing and reporting on this data, you will support both the operational and clinical functions of the laboratory, ultimately improving patient care for our partner hospitals and organisations.

This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex and sensitive information to a wide range of stakeholders, from senior healthcare professionals and non-clinical managers to those with limited technical expertise. You will fully utilise our reporting database, Path Manager, to deliver insightful reports and analyses that inform decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Information Reporting & Leadership:

  • Lead the Information Reporting function, ensuring stakeholders have timely access to high-quality management information.
  • Develop and deliver insights from LIMS data to senior managers, laboratory leads, hospital consultants, and external parties.
  • Champion the use of LIMS data, promoting its development and utilisation across the organisation.
Compliance & Data Delivery:
  • Ensure contractual, statutory, and compliance reporting requirements are met, delivering accurate data within agreed deadlines.
  • Generate ad-hoc and regular statistical reports from Path Manager.
  • Create bespoke reports and address data queries from consultants and healthcare practitioners.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Work directly with clinicians to understand and define their reporting needs, providing tailored reporting services.
  • Engage with laboratory and operational staff to ensure data is used effectively for clinical and research purposes.
Innovation & Quality:
  • Enhance the content, presentation, timeliness, data quality, and accuracy of Path Manager reports.
  • Lead continuous training and development initiatives, promoting innovative data utilisation.
System Management & Development:
  • Participate in product and application user groups, representing iPP and driving user requirement development.
  • Develop Path Manager training materials for all user groups, including clinicians, to improve LIMS data utilisation.
  • Support new customer onboarding by managing reporting requirements.
  • Oversee system upgrades, roll-outs, and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for patches and new software.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Path Manager and document solutions within the Quality Management System (Q-Pulse).
  • Liaise with suppliers for technical support.
Operational & Regulatory Compliance:
  • Maintain a strong commercial and customer-focused approach to information services.
  • Manage staff effectively, ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Report incidents and adverse events to senior management.
  • Ensure LIMS systems comply with ISO 15189:2022 standards and other regulatory requirements.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • A-Level or Degree equivalent qualification with IT/Statistical experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of information retrieval, reporting, and training.
  • Experience designing information solutions for clinical and operational managers.
  • Knowledge of Path Manager or similar laboratory reporting systems.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience working in healthcare, diagnostics, or pathology services.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
  • Experience with Path Manager.
  • Knowledge of data warehouse technology and data visualisation tools.
  • Experience in the commercial health sector.
  • Knowledge of the local health economy.
