Job summary

Government Legal Department in Leeds seeks Information Lawyers with MOJ Legal Advisers to join the Human Rights, Private International Law and Legal Services team. You will advise on information law, data protection, and FOI, supporting compliance for His Majesty’s Court Service and other MOJ branches.

The successful candidate will be a solicitor, barrister or Chartered Legal Executive with a 2.1 honours degree (or equivalent) and practical experience, with BPSS clearance and potential CTC level

Qualifications

• Strong drafting skills and ability to interpret complex legislation.
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, practical legal advice on data protection, privacy and Freedom of Information.
• Draft and review data sharing agreements and data processing contracts.
