Job summary

Academia Ltd is recruiting an Information Governance Officer to strengthen our Information Governance team. This full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract focuses on data protection advice and compliance management for our customers.

You will contribute to DPIAs, policy development, and training while supporting Information Security Consultants as a Microsoft Security SME. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

• DPIAs experience and risk mitigation
• Policies and procedures for Information Governance
• Experience with data protection training delivery
• Experience with not-for-profit organisations preferred
• Understanding of GDPR/PECR in not-for-profit context
• Familiarity with cookies and tracking technologies

Responsibilities

• Complete Data Protection Impact Assessments and identify risk reduction
• Develop and maintain Information Governance policies and procedures
• Raise awareness of Information Governance internally and with clients
• Provide IG support to customers and advise on DP issues
• Deliver data protection training to staff and customers
• Assist with investigations of personal data breaches
• Manage Information Governance documentation and process changes
• Keep updated on data protection legislation and communicate impacts
• Support completion of Subject Access requests
