Job summary

Academia the Technology Group is seeking an Information Governance Officer to join our Information Governance team on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract. The role focuses on delivering data protection advice and managing compliance for customers, with responsibilities spanning DPIAs, policy development, and training.

You will support Information Security Consultants and act as a Microsoft Security SME, working with not-for-profit clients and traveling to various customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• DPIAs experience and risk minimisation
• Policy and procedure development and improvement
• Advising on data protection issues to customers
• Provide data protection training to staff and customers
• Investigation of personal data breaches
• Documenting data protection processes and changes
• Awareness of information legislation changes and communication to business
• Handle Subject Access requests and rights exercises

Responsibilities

• Complete Data Protection Impact Assessments and identify risk
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures for improvement
• Raise awareness of Information Governance internally and with clients
• Advise customers on complex data protection issues
• Provide data protection training to staff and customers
• Assist with investigation of personal data breaches
• Maintain Information Governance documentation and update processes
• Stay up-to-date on legislation changes and communicate to the business
• Support processing of individual rights requests including Subject Access
