Job Introduction

What does it take to become a leading health and social care organisation in the UK?

It takes people who can turn lives around every day – providing encouragement, delivering innovative services and generally improving life for individuals with a learning disability or those affected by drug or alcohol misuse or mental health problems.

But it’s not just our front-line teams that make a difference. So do the dedicated professionals who work behind the scenes to support the vital work we do. And that’s where you can come in.

We are now looking for an Information Governance Officer to support the delivery of good practice in data protection and the delivery of the Information Governance agenda within Turning Point.

As an Information Governance Officer, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the integrity and confidentiality of our data, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards and supporting our mission to provide high-quality care.

Main Responsibilities

You will be responsible for handling information requests under GDPR, FOI and other legislation including monitoring, reporting and co-ordinating responses.

You will contribute to the development and maintenance of all relevant policies, procedures and documents that facilitate compliance with IG standards and assurance.

You will also assist in the development, coordination and support to the NHS DSPT and annual submission, and progress the management of incidents and data breaches recorded in our case management system.

Your responsibility will be to proactively identify and mitigate information governance risks, ensuring robust data protection practices are in place.

In your role, you will also support the development and delivery of colleague training programmes to enhance data protection awareness and compliance across Turning Pont.

You should be able to communicate clearly and effectively with people at all levels both within the company and externally and have strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data protection regulations and provide practical solutions.

Ideally, you will also have knowledge of Healthcare and related data and issues.

Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in all aspects of information governance is necessary to success in this role.
