The Information Governance Service exists to support the organisation in delivering high-quality services across the whole public health agenda, whilst processing the population's personal data fairly, safely, and lawfully in compliance with all relevant legislation. Due to increasing workloads, a vacancy has arisen for another Information Governance Manager to join the small team. The successful candidate will be an expert in the broad field of information governance with a strong understanding of information security and risk management principles.
Main duties of the job
You will be an inquisitive and highly organised individual, with a strong background in UK data protection legislation, who is highly motivated and delivery-focused, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Your previous experience will enable you to address complex privacy and data protection challenges, especially as we advance our strategy amidst technological and ethical challenges like artificial intelligence. You will be comfortable engaging at all levels of a complex organisation, from Board to operational staff, and your expert legislative knowledge will help you present compelling arguments.
Working under the direction of the Head of Information Governance but with scope for autonomous work, you will meet deadlines, lead major projects, and use your initiative and judgment effectively within a small, dedicated team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally encouraged to apply.
