Job summary

VolkerStevin, part of VolkerWessels UK Group, is hiring an Information Controller for a 12-month FTC based in Macclesfield. The role supports the C2V JV on the United Utilities Framework, focusing on information management and digital collaboration.

You will drive the use of the Common Data Environment (CDE), Asite, ensuring project information is accurate, secure and accessible, with close collaboration across teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Experience as Information Controller or Document Controller in construction/engineering.
• Strong IT skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and internet.
• Knowledge of CDE processes and electronic document management systems (EDMS).
• Asite experience is advantageous; SharePoint knowledge helps.
• Awareness of ISO 19650 & PAS1192; ISO 9001 familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day admin support for project information systems.
• Monitor CDE workflows and ensure timely reviews and approvals.
• Manage document exchanges and maintain registers/archives.
• Upload, scan, file, and distribute documents within Asite.
• Ensure naming conventions and information management protocols.
• Administer user permissions and information security.
• Support handover and project completion activities.
• Act as CDE Super User and provide training as needed.

VolkerStevin is seeking a proactive and experienced Information Controller to join our growing team, supporting our C2V Joint Venture on the United Utilities Framework. Based in Macclesfield, you'll play a key role in supporting project delivery through effective information management and digital collaboration.

As we continue our journey towards more innovative ways of working, you'll help drive the successful use and implementation of our Common Data Environment (CDE), Asite, ensuring project information is accurate, secure and accessible. You’ll work closely with project teams, engineers, commercial staff, designers, suppliers and clients, acting as a key point of contact for information management and CDE support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day administration and support for project information systems.
• Monitor CDE workflows and ensure timely review and approval of project information.
• Manage incoming and outgoing document exchanges.
• Maintain document registers, records and project archives.
• Upload, scan, file and distribute project documentation within Asite.
• Ensure compliance with document naming conventions and information management protocols.
• Carry out quality assurance checks and maintain information control standards.
• Ensure documents are submitted accurately and on time.
• Support project teams and supply chain partners with CDE processes and guidance.
• Maintain document revision control and ensure only current information is in use.
• Administer user permissions and maintain information security.
• Support handover and project completion activities.
• Act as a CDE Super User, providing training and one-to-one support where required.
• Attend Information Management meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with general information management duties to support successful project delivery.

About you

You’ll have previous experience in an Information Controller, Document Controller, or similar role within a construction, infrastructure or engineering environment and be confident working with electronic document management systems.

• Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-Mail and Internet
• CDE knowledge, specifically Asite, would be advantageous.
• Working knowledge of SharePoint content management would also be an advantage
• Awareness of standards reflecting the control of information including ISO 19650 & PAS1192
• Familiarity with quality processes and standards including ISO 19650 & ISO 9001
