Job summary

Thales UK is recruiting an Information Assurance/Technical Security Specialist to provide security guidance across projects, ensuring through-life security for IS/IT environments. You will act as a central security PoC, perform risk assessments, and drive compliant security across on‑prem and cloud platforms including MS Azure and Office 365.

The role requires SC clearance readiness, experience with government and regulatory frameworks, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience applying security principles within an agile delivery framework.
• Subject matter expert evaluating and implementing technical security products for public or private sectors.
• Experience identifying, assessing and managing technical security risks with mitigations.
• Experience managing assurance and compliance against ISO 27001, Def-Stan 05-138, NIST standards.
• Experience developing security assurance frameworks and governance models.
• Formal risk assessments and security reporting in on-prem and cloud environments.
• SME in Office 365 and Azure security for public/private sectors.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical security advice and guidance for through-life management of systems.
• Act as Technical Security PoC for IS/IT matters across project lifecycles.
• Conduct security reviews of changes ensuring risks and mitigations are managed.
• Guide secure deployment of cloud infrastructure and SaaS in line with guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with government policies and regulatory frameworks.
• Create and maintain IS/IT security documentation per policy requirements.
• Manage incident reporting, investigation and resolution for secure environments.
• Develop security requirements and governance for squads and projects.
• Coordinate technical risk assessments and remediation actions.
• Support CoCos assurance and cryptographic product delivery.
• Engage in continuous learning and staff development.
