About Us

We're MI6, also known as the Secret Intelligence Service, or SIS. Our mission is to protect the UK from overseas threats such as regional instability, terrorism, and cyber-attacks. Working globally and in partnership with MI5 and GCHQ, we support the Government in countering these threats through secret intelligence. Joining MI6 offers a supportive environment emphasizing teamwork and impactful work.

The Role

As an Information and Data Management Officer, you'll maximize the impact of our intelligence by working with unique information, using your skills to drive outcomes and inform decisions. You'll collaborate with teams and partners daily, contribute to best practices, and share your knowledge to enhance information value.

You will represent the Data and Information Department, initially focusing on information, records, or data management to understand our objectives and legal obligations. You will influence customer teams by providing practical advice and possibly training to promote effective information management. You will also contribute to digital and technological changes, including developing policies and implementing new tools.

About You

You should have a qualification or professional accreditation in information, records, or data management, with memberships in IRMS, CILIP, or ARA being advantageous. Recent graduates and those with broad data management skills are encouraged to apply. Experience with electronic document management systems, developing policies, and technological change is desirable.

You need strong problem-solving skills, ownership of your work, and a proactive approach to sharing your expertise within the community.

Training and Development

You will join a community of specialists, with opportunities for skill development and professional accreditation. An induction and team-specific training will be provided to support your role.
