Job description

Main Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage engineering support for station information and communications technology.
  • Serve as an engineering specialist and primary contact for all Business User areas to ensure their needs are accurately captured and communicated.
  • Oversee non-networked IT, ensuring adequate resourcing and monitoring of existing facilities. Review requests for new facilities for validity, acceptability, and affordability.
  • Manage the Station IT budget, including resource allocation and expenditure planning using budgetary tools like forecast outturns.
  • Provide support for communications security (COMSEC) account management.
  • Manage telecom provisions.
  • Address emerging engineering issues through root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Maintain a knowledge base for Station ICT support to promote continuous learning within the team.
  • Provide out-of-hours support for COMSEC and ICT incident management.

This role has direct line management responsibility for 5 positions and 2 countersigning roles.
