The Opportunity
This position is in the Core Diagnostics Division. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments, and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision-making for hundreds of health conditions, from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.

As the Informatics Technical Service Specialist, you will:

  • Drive the IT implementation for Abbott Diagnostics laboratory software solutions.

  • Deliver excellent technical professional service and training.

  • Work closely with regional/local sales teams and Informatics Sales colleagues to develop and profitably grow existing customer accounts.

  • Ensure all IT implementation projects are delivered and executed as per the Statement of Work.

  • Assist in the preparation of Statement of Work documents, ensuring all relevant information is captured.

  • Specify the appropriate hardware solution for IT solutions and liaise with third-party IT hardware providers where appropriate.

  • Perform software-related installation and configuration processes.

  • Deliver structured software application product training to the end user.

  • Support post-sales IT activities and provide expert knowledge.

  • Support the procurement process by providing technical information.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Medical or Hospital Informatics, or related disciplines, or relevant experience installing, configuring, and/or maintaining diagnostics laboratory informatics applications.

Required Experience:

  • Track record in Healthcare with an emphasis on customer-facing post-sales IT support.

  • Excellent IT functional expertise, IT product, and industry knowledge in Laboratory Medicine.

  • Willingness to travel frequently
