Job summary

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is hiring Informatica Test Engineers on a 12-month contract (Inside IR35) with hybrid working options across Blackpool, Leeds, Newcastle or Birmingham. You will review requirements, design test conditions, execute test scripts and manage defects.

Essential skills include strong SQL/Oracle and data warehouse knowledge, experience with Informatica PowerCenter or IICS, SAS data pipelines, and familiarity with Azure DevOps or JIRA for defect tracking.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and database knowledge, particularly Oracle and data warehouse structures.
• Experience testing Informatica PowerCenter or Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS).
• Experience testing SAS data pipelines, batch processes, and data transformations.

Responsibilities

• Review business requirements, functional specifications, and define appropriate test conditions.
• Execute test scripts, test scenarios, and test cases across various test stages.
• Facilitate test planning, estimation, and risk assessment activities.
• Perform defect management, triage, investigation, and support resolution activities.
• Produce clear and concise test reports for stakeholders and senior management.
• Validate source-to-target mappings, data transformations, reconciliation, and data migration activities.
• Design and create synthetic test data to validate data quality, business rules, mappings, and ETL processes.
• Experience identifying, analysing, and resolving data quality issues including completeness, accuracy, consistency, and integrity.

Job description

On behalf of DWP, we are looking for X3 Informatica Test Engineers for a 12 month (Inside IR35) contract based Hybrid in Either Blackpool, Leeds, Newcastle or Birmingham office.

As a Informatica Test Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:

Essential:

• Experience testing SAS data pipelines, batch processes, and data transformations.
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT testing methodologies and data warehouse testing principles.
• Knowledge of test management and defect management tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, or equivalent.
• Experience with test automation approaches for data and ETL testing.
