Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Advocacy: Support patients during IBD multidisciplinary team meetings and virtual biologics discussions.
  • Policy Awareness: Follow relevant clinical policies to ensure best practices.
  • Effective Planning: Organize daily activities, transitioning between clinics and wards, managing the IBD Flareline on rotation.
  • High-Quality Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for IBD patients.
  • Empathetic Communication: Communicate sensitively regarding blood-borne virus screenings and biologic therapies.
  • Independent Care: Provide complex nursing care with minimal supervision, collaborating with senior staff as needed.
  • Patient Education: Guide patients on disease management, therapies, and health promotion, including smoking cessation.
  • Treatment Monitoring: Oversee patients on high-cost biologic medications to ensure optimal care.
