Job summary

Xander Hendrix Healthcare in Dumfries and Galloway seeks a Consultant in Infectious Diseases with an interest in Microbiology or General Medicine (option to combine with Acute Medicine). The post supports flexible and remote working, with full-time or part-time hours and a permanent or fixed-term contract.

The role covers outpatient and inpatient services, a multidisciplinary team, and opportunities for teaching, audit, and research, reporting to the Divisional Manager for Medicine.

Qualifications

• Essential criteria include Primary Medical Qualification, GMC registration, and Specialist Register or imminent CCT.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient consultant-led care for Infectious Diseases, BBV, OPAT, and TB.
• Deliver inpatient and on-call infection consultations across adult and paediatric wards.
• Collaborate with other specialties and contribute to clinical governance and antimicrobial stewardship.
• Engage in teaching, audit, and research activities and supervise trainees.
