Job summary

Integrated Pathology Partnership Limited is seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join the Infection Sciences team in Taunton. The post requires HCPC registration and IBMS Specialist Portfolio, with responsibilities spanning Bacteriology, Parasitology, Virology, and Molecular areas.

Applicants join a growing pathology group, rotating within laboratories, with pay enhancements for weekend, on-call, and bank holidays.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration with IBMS Specialist Portfolio or equivalent required.
• Experience in infectious diseases and laboratory quality systems preferred.
• Ability to lead specialist area and train junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret routine and specialist biomedical investigations to deliver accurate results.
• Lead designated areas within Infection Sciences and ensure policy compliance.
• Provide professional leadership and supervise staff training.
• Maintain HCPC standards, safety, and quality assurance activities.
• Advise clinicians on test selections and turnaround times.
• Engage in CPD activities and contribute to continuous improvement.
