NHS Scotland is looking for a dedicated Nurse Specialist in Infection Prevention and Control to join its Infection Prevention and Control Team. This role involves managing patient care, offering specialist advice, and implementing strategies to prevent healthcare-associated infections. An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Nurse Specialist within the Infection Prevention and Control Team, with an NHS Tayside remit including care homes. The post is based initially at Ninewells, covering the Tayside locality.
We seek first-level registered nurses with experience and interest in infection prevention. The role involves clinical management of patients with infections, providing specialist advice, support, and education. You will work within infection prevention strategies, policies, and procedures, focusing on quality improvement to enhance health outcomes in the Tayside NHS Board area, especially in preventing and managing healthcare-associated infections.
This position offers a chance to develop expertise in infection prevention and control. The successful candidate should be able to manage time effectively, work autonomously, and collaborate as part of a team. Further career development in infection prevention and control is encouraged.
Applicants must be registered on Sub-part 1 (RN1 or RNA) or Sub-part 2 (RN2) of the UK NMC Register, with a recognized qualification in Infection Prevention and Control Nursing or equivalent experience. Relevant clinical nursing experience and broad clinical skills are required, along with current employment as a registered nurse in a healthcare setting.
Good interpersonal and management skills, along with a commitment to teamwork, are essential. Candidates must be willing and able to travel across the locality.
