Job summary

Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Specialty Doctor in Infection Medicine to join our newly established Department of Infection Medicine. Working with consultants and SAS doctors, you will contribute to a consultant-led Clinical Infection Service providing frontline expertise across the Trust.

This is a full-time, 10 programmed activity post based at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. You will provide infection advice to teams, support antimicrobial stewardship, review blood

Qualifications

• Primary medical qualification and Full GMC registration.
• MRCP UK or equivalent membership.
• Higher degree (PhD/MD) submitted or awarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide infection medicine leadership alongside consultants and SAS doctors.
• Deliver timely infection advice to clinical teams and review ID referrals.
• Contribute to antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention activities.
• Participate in teaching, governance, audits, and CPD activities.
• Maintain patient notes and comply with data protection regulations.
