Epsom and St Helier Hospitals is seeking a Band 6 Midwife to join the Infant Feeding Team across sites. The role focuses on promoting UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative standards, providing education and supervision to staff, and supporting mothers and families with evidence-based feeding in line with NHS policies.

The post involves cross-site working, clinical leadership in infant feeding, and maintaining the Trust's BFI Gold status, with a pro rata annual salary of £45,953–£54,254 for part-time

Qualifications

• Band 6 registered Midwife with UK NMC Pin.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Completion of BFI 2 day Breastfeeding and relationship management course.
• Completion of BFI train the trainer course.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with IFLs to embed new practices in direct clinical care of mothers and babies.
• Autonomous midwifery practitioner; provide link to breastfeeding support networks.
• Undertake clinical audit using BFI tools to evaluate and develop infant feeding practices.
• Facilitate group sessions for families in pregnancy and postnatal periods.
• Support women with evidence-based feeding information per Trust policy.
• Implement feeding management plans and review as required.
• Ensure accurate notes on Maternity notes system.
