To be a competent midwife working flexibly across the maternity service a as member of the Infant Feeding and Nurture Team based at St Michaels' hospital.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will be part if the team responsible for providing the Trust specialist infant feeding and nurture midwifery service, and the midwife led tongue tie assessment and frenulotomy service. The team are led by the Infant Feeding and Nurture specialist midwife (IFSM) and the service is currently Monday to Friday.

You will work with the team to enhance service provision in alignment with the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) standards supporting the IFSM to lead the service in achieving and maintaining BFI accreditation. You will contribute to service evaluation and change management to continually improve quality. You will also assist the IFSM in the provision of training, guidelines and other tools to support staff knowledge and skills in order to facilitate excellent service provision.

Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to deal with sensitive and difficult situations
