Job summary

SmartestEnergy Business Limited is seeking an Industry Cost Analyst to join the Optimisation & Structuring Group, supporting our operational retail pricing and ensuring accurate pricing of industry non-energy costs across GB retail and generation contracts.

You will forecast and maintain industry cost data, support new pricing services, and advise on regulatory changes while collaborating with Sales, Trading, Operations, Risk, and Finance.

Qualifications

• Numerical/analytical experience with financial modelling.
• Experience modelling industry costs including network charging and policy costs.
• Understanding GB electricity market (wholesale, balancing) and energy product structures.
• Awareness of macroeconomic factors affecting industry costs (inflation, supply/demand).
• Proficiency in querying databases and strong Excel skills.

• Forecast and maintain industry cost data.
• Support implementation/management of new retail pricing services.
• Provide specialist advice on industry charging to stakeholders across the business.
• Communicate industry cost developments internally and externally.
