ThrustMe is a fast-growing startup in the space sector, founded in 2017 with the mission to enable sustainable use of space by delivering advanced satellite mobility solutions to our clients worldwide. We are experts in satellite space propulsion and made history in 2020 with the world's first in-orbit demonstrations of an iodine-fueled electric propulsion system. Today, we are delivering propulsion systems to large satellite constellation clients in Europe, Asia, and North America. We made history in 2019 and 2020 with the world’s first in-orbit demonstrations of iodine-fuelled electric propulsion systems. Today, we are experiencing rapid growth, with over 400 systems ordered to date and above 200 delivered.

As Industrial Tooling Engineer, you will be responsible for the conception, design and implementation of tools necessary for the production and testing of ThrustMe’s space propulsion systems. You will also create jigs and interfaces to allow the assembly and testing of all flight models.

The role requires a self-driven and creative engineer, proposing and implementing solutions tailored to the ever-changing needs of the company. This is an exciting opportunity to industrialize the existing and future propulsion systems at ThrustMe.

Key responsibilities:

  • Designing and testing production tools, transferring them to the Production team.
  • Create interfaces and jigs for the various acceptance tests.
  • Keep contact with manufacturers and negotiate pricing and schedules.
  • Lead the investigation and improvement of the tooling in the production line
  • Report directly to the Head of Product Management, as part of the Industrialization team.
  • Communicate with other teams

Skills and qualifications:

  • 2+ years of work experience in a similar field.
  • High knowledge and skills of CAD tools and 2D drawings (e.g. SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor)
  • Demonstrated experience in prototyping.
  • Ability to create user-friendly industrial tools.
  • Communication skills in written and spoken English, French is a plus.
  • Experience in vibration is a plus.

The successful candidate should be a self-starter with a passion for space technologies and the commercial space industry. Experience with a high-tech production line is a plus. We value a proactive mindset, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
