Sewing Machinist - Salford
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Sewing Machinistto join our well-established client based in Salford.

This would suit applicants who have worked as a Sewing Operator, Industrial Sewing Machinist or Textile Operative.
Rates of Pay:
- £13.00 per hour
- Additional commission paid per completed piece upon securing a permanent contract
- The more pieces successfully completed, the greater the earning potential
Shift Pattern:
- Monday to Thursday: 08:15 - 16:45 & Friday: 08:15 - 14:30

Day-to-Day Duties:
Your duties as a Sewing Machinist are:
- Setting up machinery to ensure optimum efficiency and productivity
- Operating industrial sewing machines within a fast-paced production environment
- Carrying out twin-needle sewing, top sewing, flat sewing and over-locking duties
- Ensuring an adequate supply of materials is available to maintain production levels
- Inspecting finished products to ensure quality standards are met
- Reporting defective machinery or equipment promptly
- Maintaining a clean and tidy work area at all times
- Following company procedures and health and safety regulations
- Supporting continuous improvement activities across the production department
- Working to production targets while maintaining high-quality standards
Essential Skills:
To be successful as a Sewing Machinist, you will need:
- Previous experience as a Sewing Machinist or in a similar role
- The ability to work accurately in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
- Previous experience within a production or manufacturing environment
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A positive and proactive attitude towards work
- Good communication skills
- A commitment to continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S and lean manufacturing
Desirable Experience:
- Experience working with industrial sewing machinery
- Experience within the textile, upholstery or garment manufacturing industry
- Knowledge of quality control procedures within manufacturing environments
Training:
