Job summary

Alloy Enterprises is seeking a hands-on engineer to service large-scale industrial refrigeration and chiller systems across Sunderland, with some travel toward Leeds. This role offers long-term stability and development within a national engineering network.

You will take ownership of maintenance, fault-finding, and repair on-site, diagnose faults, perform PPM, and produce clear service reports while ensuring safe, compliant work in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Refrigeration apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience working on industrial refrigeration and large-scale chillers.
• Experience with HFC systems and ideally ammonia and/or CO2.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, piping diagrams, and system layouts.
• F-Gas 2079 and ammonia handling certification.
• Familiarity with major OEMs such as SABROE, Frick, York, Bitzer, Howden.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and service industrial refrigeration and chiller plant across customer sites.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control faults.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive call-outs.
• Produce clear service reports and recommendations for improvements.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, compliantly, and to a high standard.
• Work independently on site while collaborating with the wider service team.
