Job summary

Responsibilities

Role Description

The Industrial Refrigeration Engineer will be responsible for installing, commissioning, Servicing and maintaining industrial refrigeration systems, with a particular focus on NH3 & CO2 and other modern refrigerants. Day-to-day tasks include performing diagnostics, troubleshooting equipment issues, carrying out both reactive and preventive maintenance, and ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently. The role involves preparing technical documentation, collaborating with Service manager/ Supervisor and other engineers, and coordinating with EJM team to meet Customer specifications and timelines. The engineer will also interact directly with clients, providing on-site support, technical guidance, and clear communication regarding system performance and service work.

Engineer duties will also include weekly Standby which runs Friday to Friday shared across all Engineers.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Glasgow covering sites across Scotland.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Maintenance & Repair and Preventive Maintenance skills for industrial refrigeration systems.
• Candidates should possess practical expertise with NH3 & CO2 and other industrial refrigerants, including safe handling and system optimization.
• Candidates should possess solid Mechanical Engineering knowledge, ideally with experience in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and system design.
• Candidates should possess effective Customer Service skills, including clear communication, professionalism, and client-focused problem solving.
• Candidates should preferably hold a relevant engineering qualification (e.g., apprenticeship, HNC/HND, or degree in Mechanical or Refrigeration Engineering).
• Candidates should possess familiarity with applicable safety standards, F-gas regulations, and health and safety practices for site work.
• Candidates should possess the ability to read technical drawings, use diagnostic tools, and work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Candidates should possess a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites across the region as required.
